Is it poison ivy or .... ?
We'll attempt to answer your questions about if a particular plant is poison ivy (or one of the other toxic plants). Sometimes identification is difficult and may be just a best guess. If you've got additional questions or comments, be sure to contact us. Plant identifications will be done on Wednesdays and Sundays with additional identifications done during the week as time permits.NOTE (June 25, 2007): I am still doing plant identifications. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to put all the great pictures I've received online. That will come in the off-season (winter). In the meantime, contact me to learn how you can submit your pictures for identification.
For those who have submitted pictures, if your submissions are not online in this section and you requested a plant identification, click here for the new section called Quick Notes.
NOTE (June 3, 2003): The glossary is starting to take shape. I'm keeping the definitions simple and to the usage here in the plant identifications. This will be reviewed and updated from time to time for accuracy.
Answers to Your Questions
Click here for the upload form. Picture tip: getting a picture of the leaves and the stem / vine is helpful. You can upload multiple pictures so take what is needed to show the plant setting, leaves and any other useful information. There are a wide variety of "imposters" so all the additional info is helpful. We welcome comments to all submissions. Click on the "Details" link to see larger pictures, more detailed commentary, and find the message board for that submission. I've placed the subject lines of responses in the box on the right beside the picture and information. You'll find the full message board for each item in the "Details" link. Be sure to go to the details page for more information.
