Question Asked: Taken 7/1/03 at the Springbrook Nature Center in Fridley, MN (Suburb of Minneapolis) The plant is growing out of the ground and is freestanding. It has spikes on the stem and appears to match other pictures of poison ivy

The spikes on the stem is the key here. This is likely wild raspberry or other similar bramble. While the leaf configuration is genneraly the same as poison ivy, the stem (stalk) and the spikes are what differentiate positively this plant. |
