Question Asked: In my front yard, I have an island with all kinds of Ivy and plants. I am not sure what is what, but I pulled some down off one of my pine trees to prevent it from killing the tree, and now, my arm is a mess.
Answer: Hi George -
That's quite a mix of this and that you were pulling at. The predominant plant under those leaves that look like a tree in the top picture is poison ivy. It's the low growing vine with the trifoliate (3 leaflet) leaves with the middle leaflet on a longer stalk. There seems to be a fair amount of poison ivy as I see it in the top of the pictures as well as from side to side in the middle of the picture.
Picture 2 has what looks like wild grape, greenbrier, and virginia creeper. Now that's a tangle of vines. The third picture looks like a bramble perhaps blackberry? The fourth picture has virginia creeper, wild grape, some young oak saplings, and another vine I'm not sure what it is. And the fifth picture - so sorry about the rash! |
