Question Asked: I got a bad case of poison ivy following a weeding day in my yard. I'm looking all over the place for p.i. but aren't sure that I've found it yet. I live just outside of Boston, MA and have identified p.i. around the area. Is this it in my yard? Pls advise. I'm sending two pictures here and you have my permission to use them.
Answer: Hi Michelle -
This is an interesting vine though one I'm not familiar with. The reasons I say this is not poison ivy include: middle leaflet not on longer stalk, some leaflets single not in 3's, and plant attaches to wall via tendrils much like virginia creeper and not hairy rootlets like poison ivy. I haven't been able to find this one in my guides (yet) but when I do I'll post what this plant is. |
