Ok, so, I believe I have learned some things that may be of great help here. I'm desperate to get rid of these hives so i did some thinking and some research. I decided to research 'histamine' since it is the CAUSE of hives. For some reason our bodies are producing more histamine as if there is still an allergen present. I learned this in Wikipedia "It has been shown that histaminergic cells have the most wakefulness-related firing pattern of any neuronal type thus far recorded. They fire rapidly during waking, fire more slowly during periods of relaxation/tiredness and completely stop firing during REM and NREM (non-REM) sleep. Histaminergic cells can be recorded firing just before an animal shows signs of waking." This explains the ACTIVITY of histamine and the behavior of the hives!!! and i learned the following at http://www.goldbaum.net/balance/Whats_Histamine.html "Histamine is the chemical (neuro-transmitter) your body produces when you're having an allergic reaction. Adrenaline (Epinephrine) is the only chemical that can quickly eliminate histamine in a person. So called "antihistamines" like Benadryl only work to block some of your body's histamine receptors (relieving some histamine related symptoms), they do not remove histamine." AND FINALLY!!! "A single exercise session can acutely increase adrenaline levels and repetitive exercise can make you mobilize more, says Estonian researcher Dr. Atko Viru. Intensity of the exercise needs to be high and requires activity of a large portion of muscle mass for maximum adrenaline secretion." more about that here http://www.livestrong.com/article/422725-exercises-to-increase-adrenaline-levels/#ixzz1yLxLyPbH I needed to understand histamine- for various reasons (probably having to do with the current state of my immune system, lack of exercise and stress in my life) my body's histamine reactions are not balanced. It did not make sense that, on a good day, this hive situation would be an appropriate reaction so I knew something was off and there must be something that can be done physiologically to correct it. I usually run 5k 4x a week but have not done so for several months now. So, because I'm use to running as an exercise I'm going to do the suggested "sprint" exercises to increase my adrenaline levels tonight. I was reluctant to exercise during my blister and hive phase because I thought it would only make it worse but now it makes sense to do so. I will post and update.
