Hello,
I'm not sure how active this site is but for it's worth, I'd like to talk about my situation and ask if what I'm experiencing appears to be normal.
I came in contact with poision something 9 days ago. I didn't even know at the time that it was poison (we'll say oak). I don't remember ever getting it as a child. Anyway, I'm sure I touched everything after exposure. I even regretfully ate food with my hands an hour later without washing them (as I didn't know about the exposure at the time).
I started developing the rash about 60 hours later. It started on my face and in between my fingers. It then spread to my arms and legs. I went to the doctor, who gave me a 14-day prescription for Prednisone. I'm going on day 6 of the Prednisone and still have the rash popping up in random places (mainly the inside of my hands in the "creases"). It's miserable and itchy. I've been putting on calamine lotion but it's not too effective. I believe I have washed everything that could possibly have the oil on it. I do have a cat that I probably touched while having some of the oil on my clothes. Would she still carry it 9 days later?
Realistically, is the rash going to continue to get worse and worse and what is the point of the Prednisone?!
Thanks a lot!
