Absolutly not true. When you have a bad case of poison oak/ivy, your immune system thinks it is fighting an enemy. The only thing steriods do (usually pregnisone) is turn off the immune system--temporarily. You dont want to continue that state--with a compromised immune system-- any longer than necessary.
When your immune system is up and running again, hopefully the rash is gone, and your adrenals are back to normal, your allergy will return. You will once more be susceptible to poison oak and poison ivy.
