Thank you so much for posting your experiences with recurring poison ivy, etc! I thought I was going crazy, as well. Earlier this year (March 2011), I got a quarter-sized patch of poison ivy (or poison oak) just under my bottom lip. I contracted it when my face brushed against my son's pants that he had worn out in the woods (unbeknownst to me). It was so bad and took 2 to 3 months to heal. Well, here it is December 2011, and I was just telling someone YESTERDAY that it still itches from time to time, and sometimes it gets pink. Well, I should not have talked about it, I guess, because today, I have a poison ivy-like rash in the exact same spot just below my bottom lip! What are the chances of that happening? I went to the doctor this morning and asked her if it could be poison ivy, again, and she said not to believe everything you read on the internet because poison ivy is contact dermatitis. She said I must have touched something or it might even be a form of herpes. Well, with all things everyone else wrote in this thread, I feel a whole lot better, and my sons don't have to worry about being in trouble because I thought they brought poison ivy back into the house. |
