I would say that you will be fine. 'They' say that the rash does not spread, I know ppl who swear it does. 'They' also say that you can't get a rash/reaction from the poison (ivy, oak, sumak)in any mucus membrane, i.e. mouth, nose, vagina. I however do not know of anyone who has tested that theory;) Poison Ivy is not contagious, you contract it from coming into contact with the urushiol oil on the plant & the rash most ppl get is an allergic reaction to it. If you get it from touching someone then they still had the oil on them. If your husband is still developing the rash over his body, you may want to consider that he is still coming into contact with the urushiol oil from the plant...it maybe on sheets, towel, clothes, etc if there are 2-3 days in between rash development. It's normal for there to be about 6-24 hour difference in areas of the body that develop the rash once you come into contact with the oil- which will depend on the amount of oil that's gotten on the skin and the thickness of the skin on that particular body part. I am guessing you will be ok though unless he (or you) come into contact with the oil.

if you could post an update once you know if you are in the clear or not, that'd be great.
