I live in a high elevation area, and poison oak doesn't grow here which is nice, but on a day trip to to the surrounding area at lower elevation, my boyfriend and I ended up tromping around in a patch of very abundant and thriving poison oak! I am very aware of what it looks like because I am very allergic. My boyfriend has no reaction to the oils of the plant. Anyway not wanting to ruin our exploration hike I just decided to be very careful, and I was, but between my carefree boyfriend and clueless dog some oils managed to make it home and get on me despite me showering everyone and washing all of our clothes. What I have been searching for is just a safe spray that I can use to neutralize the lingering oils on my pets. I have heard you can use rubbing alcohol to clean surfaces, but its hard to know exactly where to clean everything that was touched, and is it safe so use on my dog? Cause he sure hates getting baths! |
