| I have always had a difficult time getting rid of poison ivy. The last couple of times I used a germicidal UV light (clear bulb) and passed the light over the affected area for 10 to 15 seconds. By the next day the poison ivy is gone. Do not use the light much longer than 15 seconds as it will produce a sun burn on your skin. Skin produces fumaric acid and vitamin D when subjected to UV light. It may be the fumaric acid or some other process I do not yet understand. |
