Always regard such results with a little bit (or a lot) of caution. Sensitivity to poison ivy (and its relatives) can be quite variable over time, with very sensitive people suddenly no longer sensitive, and nonsensitive people suddenly becoming very sensitive. I reliably got the PI rash with exposure until about age 25-26, and then never reacted to exposure...until I was overconfident and blithely walked among PI plants in shorts, with the expected results. If the burdock root extract works, that's great. But never be tempted to really challenge it with some deliberate, avoidable exposure. |
