I am 34 weeks pregnant and I have never has poison ivy before. I did not know I had a skin issue till days later, and then I did not know what to do when I had it. I was taking a class where I could not get the time off to see the doctor. I did not know how bad it was or how bad it was going to get. So after 3 weeks I was able to get in to see the doctor, both legs had big scratched patches, that were scabbing, and my legs had huge red patches. It had spread all over my legs and onto my arms. The doctor did not tell me it was poison ivy, it had gotten infected and he treated that. It has been 4 weeks since the few small bumps I remember them starting out to be. The itching is so bad.
I feel so ashamed at my negligence. I just don�t know what to do now. I am going to be trying all the different remedies, a lot I can�t do due to my pregnancy. I was covering my legs in calamine lotion but I was waking up dizzy and feeling sick, took me 2 mornings to come up with maybe my body does not like prolonged exposure, so I washed it off and am now covered in oatmeal. I have a month to get rid of this before I am in the range of delivery. If any one can help me I would be grateful. I want to know if this can hurt my baby at all, I know the infection can, but that is gone.
Thank you for all the info on the site, I did not know if it was poison ivy/oak at first. I still am not 100% sure. But every thing seems to point to that. |
