I have never been allergic to poison ivy. I can weed it with bare hands, no problem. I do wash up with soap and water afterward, so that I won't get it on anyone else.
But, I have a really serious allergy to the sap from mangoes and Brazilian Pepper (Florida Holly). Why would that be? Is it just a matter of time?
My husband has a really bad case of poison something right now. I was going to finish clearing, but is it possible that there is something up here in NC that is more like mangoes and holly?
