I have read that poison ivy vines can partially be identified by their aggressively "hairy" nature, sending out a multitude of root fibers from the main vine. I have a vine that meets that description that is a good 2-1/2" to 3" in diameter growing up the side of an old dead hickory. Since it is too early in the season to have any leaf growth, is there a way to tell if it is poison ivy or not? Does poison ivy ever get this big? |
