I was told yesterday, by a friend, that her dermatologist told her that there was new research that indicated skin had a memory for poison ivy. What she explained this meant was that if you got poison ivy on the arm a year ago and then this year got it on the leg, you could have outbreaks on the arm with no Urushiol contact at that point.
This is not my understanding and I was interested if new research has found something or this is a myth or is just someone confusing the action of memory T cells or something else? |
