I have had Sumac bushes for over 20 years and think they are beautiful and just had my first rash from them on my arm. The rash looks similar to the poison ivy rash and has the same oil base poison. I went to work not realizing what it was and had my arm covered with bandaids and someone recognize it as Sumac
and said that to stop the itching spot wet it with household bleach and let it stay on at least ten minutes, afterwards rinse. It immediately stopped the horrible itching. |
