| As I am still recovering on day 13 from a very bad poison ivy reaction from head to toe that I got while on vacation, I'm not sure how well each of the things I tried would work if I used them on their own. I did the combo of caladryl, rubbing alchol, steaming hot showers, anti-itch gel, oral prednisone from the ER doctors, benedryl, etc. When the blisters were huge, weeping and feeling like they might just explode causing lots of swelling on about day 6, I tried diluted bleach water (25%- 50% bleach) every 30-45 min for about 4 hours rubbed on with a cotton ball and air dry which really seemed to help dry out the blisters so the skin could start healing. I am now alternating all of the above with Cortaid Poison Ivy Care Removal Scub on the remaining milder rashes. Good luck, I feel your pain! |
