| Last summer I accidently brushed up against a vine of some poison plant (ivy, oak or sumac?) and the itching began almost immediately. I foolishly used a brush to clean my skin and a systemic infection began. The swelling was terrible. The fluid was cutting off circulation to my fingers. I have never seen anything like it (neither had my doctor). My question is, am I more susceptible now? I have never had a rash from poison ivy before, and believe me, I avoid walking to the train station along that path! |
