Well, a tree fell on our house 4 days ago, and as we were in the process of cleaning up the debris, we didn't realize that the dead pine was COVERED in poison ivy (which was dead). Apparently (we didn't know)the oils were still active, because my husband and I are now affected.
My husband has HORRIBLE contact rashes, which almost look like scabs in a linear direction (from where the leaves scraped?). I didn't have ANY rash, until I helped rub him down with calamine lotion (yeah,stupid).
So, we used some Rx cortisone that we had, and my husband actually had an allergic reaction to that ON TOP of the poison ivy.
While we haven't had any open sores/blisters or anything, we do have lumpy, red, and moist rashes. (sorry if it sounds gross)
My rash is on my neck and spreading around my ears and face..behind my knees..anywhere that it's kind of moist, I guess?
His is all over his arms and face.
We tried oatmeal baths, oatmeal & baking soda, Rx cortisone, Calamine..
Is there any other OTC or Homeopathic remedy we can try? This is TORTUROUS!!!
