Interesting... I got a horrible case of what I thought was poison ivy (could have been oak or sumac)over 10 years ago on my neck, arms and hands. Every year since then, I've had a rash return to my wrists and palm areas. To this day, I get a rash on the palms of my hands about once a year. The recurring patch has become smaller over the years but still gets small, itchy bumps that last about a week or two. Given that I initially came in contact with it so long ago I KNOW I no longer have any clothing I had that long ago so it's not a matter of re-infecting myself with the initial oils. I thought I was the only one crazy enough to question if poison ivy (oak or sumac) could lie dormant and recur. If anyone finds anything definitive about it, please post it here! Thanks.
