Add me to the list of 'recurring' poison ivy sufferers. Last year at this time I was exposed to poison ivy vine by cutting it with a chain saw, and got a very bad reaction. I was given a steroid shot and got better in 3 weeks. I had no problems all winter (except scarring from the blistering which I will have forever). At the exact same time as I got the ivy last year I break out in hives and get 'the itch' just like I had it last year in the exact same places. Even my scars turned red and swollen. The itch is terrible just like I really had poison ivy. I even used the zanfel (in case I had been exposed to get rid of the oil) to no avail.
I hope someone posts how long I may have to deal with this. I went to a dermatologist who was worthless. The itch is terrible, but I don't want to go for another steroid shot. Take care.
