I live in a suburb of Denver.A couple years ago I was decorating my yard with Halloween stuff and had a reaction to a bush planted right outside our window. At first I thought it was just me but then my boyfriend spoke up and said he had the same reaction (burning and itching)
Recently I got a job working at an outdoor education lab in the mountains and share employment with a gentelman who is working on becoming a forest ranger so I brought a sample of the plant. He found out that it is a non native poison sumac and they are planted everywhere throught my townhome complex.
What would give some the idea to plant a poisonous bush that isn't even a native?
I would like to do something about this because they are planted along walk ways and in the yards of peoples home with children and animals.Do you know something I could do?
I just think it would be hard to get the homeowners association to remove every single bush.
Thank you for the great website
