Be wise!! I was not, I put new mulch in my beds and spread it with my hands while sitting on my knees. Oh boy did I have a mess of a reaction to the PI oil in the mulch! Even though I knew what PI looked like, it was undetectable to the eye in mulch.
I now make my own mulch with branches and a mulcher. The price of my mulcher was less that my dr costs/otc meds with my bad case. I wear gloves, long pant and sleves and scrub in the shower immediatly after working in the yard. Before I might work in the yard/brush, then mow, then build a fire etc, then go in and shower. No longer!! |
