My son came into contact with poison sumac in Oct. '07 and had a major outbreak. I broke out a few days later. He had to have a steroid shot and then Prednisone for a week or two.
Now it is May '08 and we are both breaking out in a "mystery rash." The pediatrician seems to think it is bug bites of some knid, but we have checked the house thoroughly and have found no sign of biting bugs...not even bed bugs! Also, no one else in the family is affected. The Dr. also ruled out many other types of rashes. The only conclusion I can come to is a recurring outbreak of the sumac, as it is acting the same way and he is back on a steroid.
