I live in Western North Carolina and things are really beginning to bloom down here. Over the weekend I noticed a stalk that is shooting directly up from the ground. It is about 1.5 feet tall with a reddish stem and three red/green shiny leaves off each smaller stem.
I also went out to the back yard and found something similar vining along a fallen tree. The stem is red with a ton of prickers or hair like things all over the stem. The leaves look like young poison ivy. In the pictures of poison ivy I do not see a red stem but everything else makes me thing that is what it is. Next to the tree is more of the same growing up a foot then bowing down toward the ground again. These definetly have prickers all over them. Anyone know if this is poison ivy? |
