I read in the book, The Goat Doctor of the Sierras (p. 287) of a person plagued with poison oak and the goat doctor, who was attributed with miraculous cures, of having the person get an Alpine milk goat and staking it to a poison oak patch so it had to eat the poison oak then drinking its milk. This person drank this milk for years and never had a reoccurence of poison oak rash. In fact, he would rub it on his body with no reaction. My wife, on the other hand, knows of two people who made tea with poison oak and had internal reactions with swelling. |
