I pulled some poison ivy out with my bare hands two weeks ago and broke out a few days later. I have never reacted to poison ivy before so was surprised. It got out of control so I ended up in the emergency room last weekend and they gave me a prednizone shot and pills for the next 3 days. The swelling went down and I stopped itching until I stopped the prednizone treatment.
I bought Zanfel 2 days ago and used it on my entire body and it helped for awhile, but then the itching came back as bad as before, but without the swelling. I'm guessing that the stuff is in my system and I'll have to ride it out since I don't want to do the prednizone treatment again.
My question - if I keep using Zanfel (as long as I can afford it!) will it help if this is in my blood? Or do I just need to wait it out? Am I looking at 3 more weeks of this?
Thanks for any information you can give me. I am miserable and at my wit's end.
