| My 5 year old son seems to have the same thing. We went camping a week and a half ago and the day before we left we noticed several black scabs on his abdomen. Two days later he broke out in a rash all over his stomach, chest, and face. His face and abdomen were swollen. We took him to the doctor and they said it was a bad case of poison ivy and gave him some anti-itch medicine and some steroids. The swelling in his face and abdomen went down, and his face has cleared up quite a bit, but he still has a pretty bad rash all over his chest and stomach, and it has spread under his arms and some on his back. My wife and I have also had small rashes that seem to keep coming up in new spots every day or so. I guess it just takes time to heal. I haven't had poison ivy in a long time, but I didn't remember it taking this long to get rid of. I guess I just didn't remember correctly. |
