I live on the west coast so we have poison oak around here, but I've had it a million times & never had any permanent side effects. The only real issue (as long as he's not hyper-allergic, which you'd know already because he'd be in the hospital as soon as the rash showed up) is the scarring. It's like chicken pox....they need to keep from scratching as much as possible. The blisters don't usually scar, but if they're scratched & the skin is damaged, it can cause scarring. |
