I could not find a more current post on this subject, but last summer I was weeding a lot of poison ivy, not being too cautious due to the minor degree that I usually get it. I noticed to small sappy spots on my leg and immediately washed them off with Fels Naptha soap. It took a bit of rubbing, but the spots turned dark black and within a couple of days I had a dark ring of red around both spots. The ring seems to be enlarging daily. I was given an antibiotic which cleared it up. Ten months later, I still see faint spots. Did I oxidize the oil when I washed them? I have done much research on this, and this is the first post that I found that relates to my incident. If it was poison ivy, I feel that I made it worse by rubbing the sap so hard to get it off. Any thoughts on this resurrected subject? |
