I developed what I THINK is poison ivy by removing vines from a few trees in my yard. They were vines covered with a light brownish colored "fur" but they had no leaves on them. Some of the vines were literally stuck to the trees, to the extent that I couldn't even pry them off. Toward the ground, the vines were/are extremely thick. Is this poison ivy growing without leaves? The thinner vines loosened from the trees and when I pulled them down to ground level, several feet of the vine spreading through the yard pulled right up. I had a feeling I was dealing with something weird, so I wore gloves (that I threw away) and long/thick clothing and tried to be careful, but still ended up with a red itchy rash. I filled about 2 1/2 large yard bags with these vines/roots. Some of it might still be hanging around---are there actually "professionals" who remove poison ivy from property? |
