| I am slowly recovering from a horrible case of poison ivy and I wanted to share my results of treatments with the board so that you don't waste your money. First Tecnu. This stuff does nothing to dry the ivy unless you use the soap just when you think you got it. washing with dishwashing liquid would do the same from what I gathered from these boards. I used the new Tecnu spray and it worked good on the itch but didn't clear up the poison like I thought it would. I then switched back to the old pink calamine lotion and guess what, the ivy started drying with one application and it's been going away with subsequent coatings. My advice would be good old calamine lotion and taking an allergy pill to control the itch as well. I would not spend the extra money on anything else since it does nothing but control the itch. Don't get caught up in expensive treatments since only time will cure it and the calamine lotion worked better than any of them. |
