I touched poison ivy on Labor Day. My left eye almost swelled shut,and I got a huge blister on my wrist. I ended up getting two steroid shots and prednisone pills. The doc also put me on Zantac and Benadryl pills. THE BLISTERING SORES HEALED, BUT THE RED, FLAT RASH CONTINUES TO SPREAD IN PLACES THAT WERE NOT TOUCHED BY THE PLANT - ALL OVER MY CHEST. The doc said I was having a SYSTEMIC reaction and that it was still in my system, so I'm still on all of the meds. The meds are supposed to diminish your systems reaction to the poison. The doc said to keep taking the Zantac and Benadrly as they not only control the itching but also lesson the bodies response to the poison. [email protected] |
