I am currently struggling with the same thing. I thought it was tar on my arm and tried to scrub it off to find it was painful. I am now with an itching burning rash that is larger that a silver dollar and a very swollen right eye. The doctor is thinking it is a insect bite of some kind. Did you ever find out what it was?
