David you are right about the oil being long gone, it was both absorbed into your skin proteins and washed off from normal hygiene routines. The area you bandaged would have broken out the same way whether it was bandaged or not. As you observed, you may have just one blister one day, and then a large concentrated patch in the same area days later. That is just the nature of how skin reacts to P.I. and almost everyone experiences this is some manner. If you need to keep the blisters covered for protection or for looks sake, that is okay, but they will heal faster if air gets the area. The fluid from the blisters is not harmful or contagious. Sometimes it will crust over, yellowish looking, when it dries. Again, this is normal. If it bothers you, rinse under cool water to loosen the crusts, pat dry, and then you can leave as is, or apply a cream for itching if you need to (but avoid hydrocortisone creams, they are not effective for that even though they say they are).
