Count me as one who is allergic to the Virginia Creeper. I had a rash on my wrists 10/04, got infected, went to the doctor. She said: "poison ivy". hmmm. Never had poison ivy, or anything like it,ever. In retrospect, it was Virgina Creeper.
...... The Virgina Creeper is coming onto my property from the neighbor, who is apparently "cultivating it". She thinks its a welcome alternative to my English Ivy..?? I may not have even made the connection, except that she seems to be so proud of what she calls her "Virginia Creepers." They don't seem very appealing to me, regardless of their toxic potential.
....... Anyway, the other day I came into direct contact with some of the stuff. Within 16 hours, a couple small pimples & welts on one wrist.
....... Thanks to this site, I've confirmed my suspicions. I'll treat it and keep my distance from now on! |
