| I too have pi on my face w/ all the eye,etc swelling. It is on my neck,ears, belly, arms, legs and more. It first showed it's ugly self 6 days ago. It seems like all it has wanted to do is spread, spread spread, itch ,itch, itch and burn burn burn. 2 nights ago i researched alt. methods. A er gave me the shot, prednisone pills, and an antihistimine. I was making a paste out of an aveeno oatmeal bath for my face. This did provide some comfort and began pulling the fluid from it on my face. Anyway, 2 nights ago; learned about spraying rubbing alcohol on open spots to dry it out. I read that some, who caught theirs in time,would scratch it open and spray on the alcohol and it wouldn't spread. I'm sure I'm not that lucky myself however, the spray on my face a few times on evening did improve it. That night i spayed my belly too and got my first 3 hrs of straight sleep in appx 4 days. I sprayed my face for the last 2 days. It does really dry out the skin yet i don't have quite as much swelling either and no oozing seriously reduced itching. If your son can take it i believe i'd try it. I would fan mine when it burned. to help with the dry factor, i am using the oatmeal fragrance free face wash by aveeno. good luck, i feel for your boy. |
