That sounds awful Mark--I am so sorry for you! Thanks for sharing that info. You are right that a plant doesn't have to be considered "poison" to cause contact dermatitis in allergic individuals. I'm sure there are lots of people that get plant rashes where PI is not the culprit.
Maybe you could get a friend to rip out all the ivy for you and kill the rootstock. I have it growing in my yard because my neighbor planted it along the fence line, but I am not allergic to it, thank goodness. I wish I could kill the main plant but it is in her yard. Take care and be careful :) |
