Cher, you can use it, but Round Up is not formulated to killed woody stemmed plants. Read the label and you will see. Poison ivy, sumac and oak are all woody stemmed and much more hardy. Therefore Round Up will most likely not kill the root. You need to purchase a plant killer specifically for woody stemmed plants. Othro makes one called BRUSH B GON. It is stronger than Round Up. Still, you might have to do more than one application depending on how old your poison ivy plants are. The more mature they are, the tougher they are to kill because they have bigger established root systems. Good Luck.
