Hi Mary Beth. What you are experiencing is very common. You can keep getting new spots for several weeks. Read the FAQ link in the yellow boxes on this site to learn more. Also, poison ivy doesn't start out right away as blisters. It evolves into blisters from a itchy bumps. How long that takes depends on how much oil was absorbed, but never immediately. Sometimes people get away without entering a blister stage but not often. This time around I had a few bumps that did not blister like other areas. When they are massed together (bumps) they can appear to be a large patch of red, leathery skin. You skin also takes on this appearance after the oozing has stopped and the blisters have gone down. Just remember not to keep drying your skin if you are past that stage. You need to moisturize the leathery areas, and use a drying agent on the new spots. Have fun!
