Annie,

I didn't see this in the suggestion for cures area, but I was diagnosed yesterday, finally, after over a week of suffering and taking antibiotics (which didn't help), I went to a dermatologist in Chicago and was persribed a cream called Flucinonide which has helped alot. The DR said I had a severe reaction, and he thought it was Sumac, but said it really didn't matter, the treatment was the same. He prescribed an over the counter med called Domeboro powders which I find works pretty well. It was about $12 here in Chicago. It's 12 doses of dry powder that you disolve in water and then soak rags in it and put them on your sores for 10 to 30 minutes. It really helped the itch significantly. I don't itch much from the older, darker, post fluid sores, it's mostly the new ones that continue to crop up that drive me crazy! The Derm said it could be several weeks of them popping up where ever they want. There was nothing you could do to stem the tide, just treat them quickly while they're small, before they blister.

I hope that helps you. I don't know what those who are more experienced will say about Domeboro or Flucinonide, but they have helped me to calm down, stop itching and get on with my life.

If anyone has experience with Domeboro or Flucinonide...please let me know what you think of them. Thanks.
