1. You can still wear the pants unless they have the PI oil on them. They may also keep your legs warm and increase the itching, you'll just have to try it and see.
2. There is no quick remedy for clearing it up quickly, you may have to try several before you find one that works for you.
3. If there was a shot available, I think we would all line up for it. There was a vaccination for it a few years ago, but I believe it proved to be ineffective and have side effects.
4. No, you shouldn't pop the blisters, that can lead to secondary infection, which you definitely do not want. Although some of us do pop them (myself included), you do so at some risk....just so you understand.
I went to an outdoor party when I had PI. I carried Sarna (anti-itch) lotion in an insulated lunch bag with a cold pack. When the lotion is cool (keep in fridge at home), it feels extra good. I would smoothe it on whenever I felt the urge to scratch. The party helped take my mind off of it for a while. So again, you'll have to be the one to decide if you feel like going to the party.
