Hi,

I have been reading this site for the last few days trying to find some insight. I broke out with poison ivy on July 11th..After my horticulture teacher was so unorganized and ill prepared for class that we ended up pulling weeds for 9 hours argg!! This was my first ever case but my dad and sister are really allergic to it.. it was all over my face, my hands, arms and inner thighs. I don't have a lot of money nor do I have a regular doctor so I finally gave up before blowing my head off and went to a clinic because this was all that was open on a sunday and since moving to this town I haven't been able to find a dr to take new patients.. arg... anyway.. the doctor stood across the room from me and said yep you have poison ivy Wash all your clothes and bedding in hot water and I'll give you a shot. So $150 (not counting all the over the counter junk i bought) and a week later I was still breaking out with poison ivy when the shot wore off. That lasted for probably another 2 weeks breaking out in random spots on my legs and arms. I was poison ivy free for about a week and I am now covered again on both of my forearms, my stomach and small spots on my legs.... I have washed my sheets and blankets probably 5 times now, I've gone through the house with lysol wipes and wiped everything down. I just don't know what to do now.. Its almost september and I'm going nuts. Can this stuff be in my system and just keep breaking out? The lack of sleep and the neverending itch is making me into a mad woman... haha... I've been regularly washing the area with rubbing alcohol and taking benadryl for the itch... any other ideas.. Those little blasted blister like buggers keep popping up in new places!!!

I know this is long.. but if you've had poison ivy before i'm hoping you will understand the complete frustration i am dealing with.
