Hi S.M. I would try to eradicate the sumac as it only gets bigger year after year, and birds eat the fruits of all the poisonous plants and spread the seeds to keep the cycle going. You need a strong killer like Ortho Brush B Gon that will kill woody stemmed plants. I am tired of typing the same info over & over so just read some of my other Q&A posts on how to get rid of these plants. This site also has info on control, see the links above the page. Good luck and use caution when removing them. A Tip: Try Blue Ice analgesic rub ( meant for muscle aches) for your rash (but ONLY if it is not weeping) so you can stop the itching sensation at work. I used that this year and it worked for hours, and it didn't blister as badly either. The menthol numbs the itch. Once your blisters start to ooze discontinue using this product. [email protected]
