| I, like you am extremely sensative to PI. About once every 3 or 4 times getting it (even a little) I get atopic dermatitis *sp* all over my body and I swell up like a blowfish. The best thing you can do is go through your day and make a list of everything you touch that you may have touched the first week you noticed a rash. Couches, door handles, bathrobes, bedclothes, etc. I use Tecnu on everything. You can put it in your clothes washer (test it to make sure it won't stain) and hope for the best. Also, if you have sensative skin like I do, DON'T DRY THE STUFF OUT!!!! (this includes bleach(always a bad idea), rubbing alcohol, Tecnu as a body soap, etc.) it enlarges the rash locally just like scratching because the blister is your body fighting off the oil and if your skin becomes overly dry, it will become more enflamed. I use a 2% cortisone cream on my body and 1/2% on my face. It helps the itching and moisturises just enough. When the rash oozes and scabs over, it will dry itself (you should still keep it clean). Rest, drink lots of water, avoid stress, take an Aveno oatmeal bath twice per day and let it run it's course. |
