I think I know what you are talking about. The good news is that the drying and cracking skin is a sign that things are getting better. I've had poison ivy more times than I care to count and once I see that my skin starts to dry up, it means that I'm close to being completely healed. Basically, because ur immune system is attacking your skin where the urishol (sp?) oil has binded to the proteins, the drying is basically dead skin. The complete healing cycle involves you shedding the skin of the infected area and new skin coming up. Don't worry, it happens to me everytime i get poison ivy so it's nothing you should obsess about. Just try to soothe it with CalaGel and wait a few more days. |
