Hi. The averages for the rash from start to finish is 10 days to 3 wks. depending on your exposure. I had a bad case last year that took 1 month to totally clear up. You will not know how long you will break out because the areas that received the most oil break out first, then the other spots will follow. You generally break out first on thinner skin areas that got the heaviest concentration of oil and have the worst rash there. Try using cold wet cloths for itch relief, or rubbing ice cubes on the areas. Also I found that a product called Blue Ice (meant for muscle aches) helps numb the itch sensation. Do not use it on open blisters. If you want to try it, just lightly wipe it on your rash ( if you rub it in, you will get a burning feeling.) The Blue Ice helped me sleep at night without itching, and to get thru most of the day okay with a couple applications. [email protected]
