Hi Sherri. I hear your desperation, but once you're in the blister stage there really isn't too much you can do to speed up the healing. At least this means you are on the mend. Also, there is nothing you can do to "stop the spread" as every surface that got covered with rash-potential oil happened on the first day you did yardwork. The oil binds with proteins in your cell membranes. If you had washed with an oil removing soap immediately after contact, then you could control the spread, and possibly have no outbreaks at all. The only thing you can do to help your hands heal, is to pat over oozing blisters with a drying agent such as witch hazel. That way your blisters won't last as long. After that stage, use a good natural moisturizer like Vitamin E oil or cream, or Pure Aloe. It sounds to me as if you had an allegic reaction to the Lanacane. It has anti-bacterial ingredients that you may be sensitive to. From what you have described, you could have 2 different rashes, one from poison ivy, oak or sumac on your hands, and perhaps a different one elsewhere (prickly heat most likely) It doesn't itch but burns. For your body rash, taking a tepid bath (lukewarm) with 1 1/2 cups baking soda will help soothe and reduce redness. Do not rinse off. Also calamine will help with prickly heat. Just make sure to try gentle solutions first. Your skin has different thicknesses and sensitivities on different body areas, as thus should be treated accordingly. You should take IBUPROFEN for your swelling of your hands, and use cold compresses for itching & swellling. If you have any more questions, let me know & good luck. [email protected]
