| I can sympathize with you. About a week after coming in contact with poison ivy (Memorial Day weekend), I went to my family doctor. I was given a cortisone shot, and started on a 6-day Medrol Pack. On day 5, the rash spread to parts of my body that were not initially exposed. My doctor put me on ANOTHER 6-day pack. At the end of THAT pack, the rash spread pretty much everywhere. I went to a dermatologist, and he put me on Olux foam for 2 weeks. That seemed to help, but once off the foam, it spread a little more. Then he put me on Clobex lotion (HIGH potency steroid lotion) for 2 weeks, and that helped some as well, but as I write this, I still have poison ivy. I was told to use more Clobex, but I think it just puts the rash on "pause", so I'm letting it run its course. I'm about ready to move to the desert.....I have had a miserable time of it! |
